Post NHL, union still dancing as midnight approaches

Phone conversations concluded Sunday morning between the National Hockey League and its player union with no official word on face-to-face meetings to end a 106-day lockout, multiple reports say. There are suggestions the sides could sit down together later in the day for the first time since working unsuccessfully with federal mediators on Dec. 12 and 13.
