We have Rogers smart home monitoring and everything has been OK since we had Telus internet installed on July 25. Everything was OK until Sunday night when the Rogers home monitoring video camera quit working. After calling Rogers they sent a technician to our house. He reset everything - service resets, factory resets, little button in the bottom of the box resets and none of it helped. He replaced a Netgear box which plugs into the Telus wifi modem which also didn't help. I went into admin mode on the Telus modem and I can see that the Netgear box is connected and there are no errors. I think that the problem is with the Rogers alarm box/display screen. It won't connect to Wifi.
Rogers says that there is an incompatibility between the Telus internet modem (T3200M) and the Rogers Smart Home Monitoring wifi. He said that I have to go into admin mode on the wifi modem and set the internal firewall to the minimum settings. I checked the Telus modem and the firewall is set to "NAT firewall". I didn't change anything.
This setup worked for 6 weeks and it suddenly failed all by itself overnight Sunday. I think that there is a hardware problem with the Rogers alarm box/display unit. Has anyone else had difficulties with Telus and Rogers home monitoring?
