Is there any way I can program my Sony remote to control the PVR?

Just wondering if anyone has successfully used their Sony remote (Model # RMF-TX300U) to control their PVR?

I have the Actiontec CIS430.

I know the harmony remote can do this, but am wondering if any of Telus's TV boxes can be control with other remotes?
