Default Woodpecker forces removal of Centennial flagpole in Montreal's West Island
The bird's ravenous pecking has done so much damage to the 30-metre fir pole that's flown the Maple Leaf high over Baie-D'Urfé's Bertold Park since 1967 that municipal officials have no choice but to bring the pole down.
