Upgrading Telus Wifi Hub arca9302b0bf

Has anyone had this issue with upgrading a modem to support Wifi 6 802.11AX.

Just spent hours on the phone with Telus about getting my current Telus Wifi Hub (802.11AC) upgraded to the new Wifi 6 > Telus Central Hub (802.11AX). They insist that I can only get the new modem if I sign up for Telus Wifi Plus addtional $10 per month.

Current plan: PureFiber Gigabyte 1000

New customers receive this new modem for free with their installation and for us existing customers we can only upgrade to this modem by getting Wifi Plus or buying the modem outright ~$320 or signing another contract with a discounted plan to upgrade.

Anybody else having this same problem? (Not looking to buy my own 802.11AX device)
