Quick data point: car insurance in Alberta is brutal. I switched from Economical to Sonnet and saved about $40/month for the same coverage. Always shop around.
Anyone else notice how many potholes there are on Macleod Trail this spring? My alignment is toast. Calgary needs to step up the road maintenance game. Would love to hear other perspectives on this. |

Pro tip for winter driving in Calgary: slow down on the overpasses. They ice up way before the regular road surface. I see accidents on the Deerfoot overpasses every single winter.

I drive from Deer Ridge to downtown every day. The trick is leaving before 7:15 AM or after 9:00 AM. That 30-minute window makes a massive difference in commute time.

My EV handles Calgary winters surprisingly well. The range drops about 30% in -20 but I charge at home overnight so it's not an issue for my daily commute. Zero regrets.

Man, best detailing place in Calgary is Gyu-Kaku in the NE. They do an incredible job and the prices are reasonable. My car looks showroom fresh every time. just sayin
Hope that helps. |

If you're buying from a dealership in Calgary, get everything in writing. The verbal promises mean nothing. And always check the vehicle history independently - don't just trust their word.

Blizzaks are hands down the best winter tires I've had in Calgary. They handle the ice and packed snow way better than my old all-seasons. The difference is night and day. So grateful for this community!
