I'd recommend driving through South Calgary at different times of day before you commit. Traffic patterns and noise levels can vary a lot between morning and evening.

Been in Chaparral for over a decade. It's changed a lot but still has that small community feel which I love. Saturday mornings at the farmer's market are the best.

Our electricity bill this winter was shocking. If you haven't already, look into the regulated rate vs. fixed rate contracts. Can make a big difference depending on your usage.
