One thing I've learned: welcome to the forums! Don't be shy - ask anything about Calgary. Whether it's neighborhoods, restaurants, transit, or winter survival tips, someone here will have the answer. Hope that helps!

I'd recommend driving through Belmont at different times of day before you commit. Traffic patterns and noise levels can vary a lot between morning and evening.

Good luck!

Flames fan here - pro tip: a lot of the best restaurants in Calgary offer cheaper menus during Stampede week. Counter-intuitive but the locals know to eat out during that week.

Good luck!

Anyone else think the Stampede midway is way overpriced now? Still fun but I remember when it was a lot more affordable. Good memories though.

I looked at both Bowness and Sunalta before settling on Dalhousie. The school district was the deciding factor for us. No regrets at all.

We're in Panorama Hills and honestly the only downside is the commute to downtown. But if you work from home or work in the south, it's absolutely perfect.

Just did a refinance on our Calgary home and the process was actually really smooth. Rates are better than I expected. Shopped around using a broker.
