This is super helpful, thanks for sharing. I've been wondering about this exact thing. Anyone else have a similar experience?

So basically, solar panels on our roof in Coral Springs have been producing great. Calgary's sunshine hours make it one of the best cities in Canada for solar. Paid off the investment in about 7 years. just sayin

Cheers!

Having a toddler changes this - if you're looking for a gym that's not packed 24/7, try some of the smaller independent places outside of the core. The prices are often better and the equipment is just as good.

On a related note, CalgaryFinder is a good resource if you're looking for local services or classifieds.

Ngl, if you're in tech and considering Calgary - the talent competition isn't as fierce as Toronto but the salaries are competitive and your money goes WAY further here.

Good luck!

Been in Midnapore for over a decade. It's changed a lot but still has that small community feel which I love. Saturday mornings at the farmer's market are the best.

That said, hard agree on the winter driving thing. I'm originally from the coast and the first winter here was an eye opener. But you adapt and honestly snow tires make all the difference.

Hope that helps.

Ngl, go Flames Go! Tonight's game was exactly what we needed. The energy at the Dome was incredible. This team has so much potential.

What do you all think?

Alberta Health Services wait times can be long but the quality of care in Calgary hospitals is actually really good.
Respectfully disagree here. for mental health, the Calgary Counselling Centre has a sliding scale fee structure. They were incredibly helpful when I was going through a tough time.

Random but if anyone needs to check a used car, FullVIN.com saved my buddy from a bad purchase last month.

For groceries, the best value in Calgary is honestly the ethnic supermarkets. T&T, Superstore International aisle, and the shops on International Avenue have way better prices on produce and spices.

Pro tip: a lot of the best restaurants in Calgary offer cheaper menus during Stampede week. Counter-intuitive but the locals know to eat out during that week. fr

Good luck!

Lived in Calgary my whole life and this is spot on. The city has changed a lot recently but the core of what makes it great is still there.
