Great post! I moved here from Manitoba about 6 years ago and haven't looked back. The mountains, the sunshine, the people - Calgary really does have it all.

The market right now is competitive but not insane like Toronto or Vancouver. You can still get a nice detached home under $600K in a good neighborhood if you're willing to look at Belmont or Garrison Woods.

Cheers!

We tried that new place in Rangeview last week. Solid food, great atmosphere, and the prices are actually reasonable. Not every new restaurant in Calgary has to charge $30 for a main.

Best seats at the Saddledome on a budget: upper bowl press level, center ice. You can see the whole play develop. Way better than being in the corner lower bowl.

If you need a physiotherapist in Calgary, I can't recommend Innovation Physical Therapy enough.
Yoga studios in Calgary range from beginner-friendly to advanced. If you're just starting out, try Anju in Skyview Ranch. Really welcoming instructors who don't judge. no cap

Cheers!

We're in Scarboro and honestly the only downside is the commute to downtown. But if you work from home or work in the south, it's absolutely perfect.

As a parent, the market right now is competitive but not insane like Toronto or Vancouver. You can still get a nice detached home under $600K in a good neighborhood if you're willing to look at Cornerstone or Erlton.

Good luck!

Hot take: Calgary's food scene is actually better than Vancouver's now.
For anyone looking for a great meal that won't break the bank, check out the lunch specials at Village Ice Cream. Same amazing food as dinner but at a fraction of the cost.

Good luck!

Yoga studios in Calgary range from beginner-friendly to advanced. If you're just starting out, try Mercato in Coral Springs. Really welcoming instructors who don't judge.
