For anyone looking at new builds - visit the site at different times and weather. Some areas flood in spring, some have awful drainage. Ask the neighbors, they'll tell you everything the builder won't.

Good luck!

If you're looking for a gym that's not packed 24/7, try some of the smaller independent places outside of the core. The prices are often better and the equipment is just as good.

Cheers!

Best seats at the Saddledome on a budget: upper bowl press level, center ice. You can see the whole play develop. Way better than being in the corner lower bowl.

Ship & Anchor is a Calgary institution. Been going there for years. The patio in summer is one of the best spots in the entire city.

So excited about this - Couldn't disagree more actually lol. I've had the opposite experience but hey, that's what makes Calgary interesting - everyone's got their own take on things.

Alberta Health Services wait times can be long but the quality of care in Calgary hospitals is actually really good. I've had great experiences at Foothills and South Health Campus.

The market right now is competitive but not insane like Toronto or Vancouver. You can still get a nice detached home under $600K in a good neighborhood if you're willing to look at Forest Lawn or Bowness.

Hope that helps.

Just a heads up about Huntington Hills - the new development is bringing in a lot of traffic. Still a great area but something to consider if you're on the main roads.

The outdoor fitness scene in Calgary is amazing. Free bootcamps in the parks during summer, running groups, cycling groups - there's something for everyone.

Blizzaks are hands down the best winter tires I've had in Calgary. They handle the ice and packed snow way better than my old all-seasons. The difference is night and day.

BTW if you're checking vehicle history, FullVIN.com has been reliable for us. Way better than going in blind on a used purchase.
