On a related note with the Flames, just bought in New Brighton and I'm blown away by how friendly the neighbors are. Within the first week, three different families came by to introduce themselves.

Also check out CalgaryFinder.com for local listings - it's pretty handy for finding stuff and services in specific neighborhoods.

The secondary suite market in Calgary is really strong. We have a legal basement suite in McKenzie Towne and the rental income covers a big chunk of our mortgage. Worth the investment for sure.

On the other hand, my two cents - the biggest adjustment when moving to Calgary is the dryness. Invest in a good humidifier and moisturizer. Your skin will thank you.

Good luck!
