Just discovered Sidewalk Citizen Bakery in Falconridge and wow.
Pro tip: a lot of the best restaurants in Calgary offer cheaper menus during Stampede week. Counter-intuitive but the locals know to eat out during that week.

If you're looking for value, the NE communities like Taradale and Martindale are actually really nice and way more affordable. Don't let the stereotypes fool you.

Midnapore is a great choice! We've been here for 6 years. The walkability is good, tons of local shops, and the community association is really active.

If you're looking for a gym that's not packed 24/7, try some of the smaller independent places outside of the core. The prices are often better and the equipment is just as good.
