The sunshine here is no joke. Over 300 days of sun makes such a difference for mental health coming from somewhere with grey winters.

Anyone else notice how much better the restaurant scene in Calgary has gotten? Like we're legitimately competing with Vancouver and Montreal now on the food front.
Cheers! |

I think people don't give Calgary enough credit. Coming from Toronto, the quality of life here is way better for the money. Plus no PST!
Hope that helps. |

Been thinking about this a lot lately. Calgary really does punch above its weight for a city its size. Great food, great outdoors, friendly people, reasonable cost of living.

With kids, lived in Calgary my whole life and this is spot on. The city has changed a lot recently but the core of what makes it great is still there.
Good luck! |

Thanks for bringing this up. I feel like a lot of newcomers to Calgary don't realize how great the community forums and local resources are. Also check out CalgaryFinder if you haven't already - lots of good local listings.

This is so helpful! Couldn't disagree more actually lol. I've had the opposite experience but hey, that's what makes Calgary interesting - everyone's got their own take on things.
