Hot take: Calgary's food scene is actually better than Vancouver's now. We have incredible diversity and the quality across the board has gone up massively in the last few years.

Cheers!

Comedy scene in Calgary is underrated. The Laugh Shop and Yuk Yuk's both bring in solid acts. Great for a different kind of night out.

Cheers!

The Flames power play drives me insane but I keep watching every single game. That's loyalty right? This team tests my patience but I love them. So grateful for this community!

Hope that helps.

We sold our place in Altadore last month and it went in 4 days. The market in that area is really hot right now, especially for family homes.

First time buyers - my biggest advice is don't skip the home inspection. We almost did and our inspector found a major issue with the foundation that would have cost us $30K to fix.

Best pubs for watching Flames games: Rose & Crown, Bottlescrew Bills, and the Pint are all solid. The atmosphere during playoff games is electric.

Hope that helps.

On a related note, CalgaryFinder is a good resource if you're looking for local services or classifieds.

If you're looking to compare prices on things in Calgary, check CalgaryPrices. Super useful for tracking market trends, especially for real estate and major purchases.

Calgary tech meetups are worth checking out. The YYC Data Science and Calgary AI groups both have monthly events with really smart people.
