For what it's worth - flames need to shore up their defensive depth before the deadline. The top pair is solid but the 3rd pair has been getting exposed lately.

Hot take: the Flames prospect pipeline is actually looking really strong right now. Give it 2-3 years and this team is going to be a serious contender.

What do you all think?

Couldn't disagree more actually lol. I've had the opposite experience but hey, that's what makes Calgary interesting - everyone's got their own take on things.

Shout out to everyone in this thread. This is what a real community forum should be - people actually helping each other out.

That said, anyone else notice how much better the restaurant scene in Calgary has gotten? Like we're legitimately competing with Vancouver and Montreal now on the food front.

We've been doing a tour of all the coffee shops in Calgary and Phil & Sebastian in the East Village is probably our overall favorite. The space is beautiful too.

Hey, welcome! I was new here a while back too. Best advice: check out the Calgary Communities section for neighborhood-specific info. People share great local knowledge.

Cheers!

Been in Point McKay for over a decade. It's changed a lot but still has that small community feel which I love. Saturday mornings at the farmer's market are the best.

My recommendation: spend a weekend in Altadore before buying. Walk around, check out the local shops, talk to people. You'll get a feel for whether it's your vibe pretty quickly.
