For our family, gas prices at Costco on Deerfoot are usually the cheapest in the city. Worth the drive and the lineup if you're filling up a big tank.

Curious to know what others think.

Bro, rent in New Brighton has gone up about 10% this year. If you're renewing a lease, know your rights under Alberta tenancy law. Landlords have to give proper notice for increases.

Cell phone bills in Calgary are still too high compared to other countries but the deals are getting better. BYOD plans are the way to go - don't finance through a carrier.

Home renovation quotes in Calgary are all over the place. Got three quotes for a bathroom reno and they ranged from $8K to $25K. Always get multiple quotes.

Daycare costs in Calgary are coming down with the federal $10/day program but the waitlists are ridiculous. Get on the list as soon as possible - like before the kid is born.

Good luck!

Take this with a grain of salt but grocery bills have been insane lately. We've switched to a combination of Costco, No Frills, and the Asian supermarkets for better prices. Still spending more than a year ago though.

Good luck!
